I stumbled upon your account. It's awesome. Hope you stumble upon your account here again some day.

also yeah another australian deviant!
damn their rare
I very much enjoy looking at your pieces and just want to say thank you for being you. They're really cool, expressive ways to draw animals (snakes in particular). This is really inspirational stuff for me because I'm a college student majoring art in a department that's very focused on conceptual art with tastes that lean away from my interests.

Your Medusa pieces and your multiple pieces of snakes that are like, tangled on themselves are so creative and interesting compositionally. You really have a nack for filling up space with serpentine bodies and supplementing it properly. Your Snake Island Landscapes are really cool too.

On top of that, your pieces of ecology art (if that's the proper word) are also well crafted. The natural backgrounds and scenes work really well because of your skill t handling natural elements and wielding proper color/value balances.

You know your shit.

I'm so happy to see your work because, essentially, this is the direction I need ought to push some of my own work in to better adapt to my surroundings at school. I've learned at least 10 things from just a quick glance at your portfolio. You're pretty fantastic, mate!

So thank you for sharing your work on Deviant Art.
About 30 years ago I was heavily influenced by artist William Stout. Especially his work on dinosaurs.  What you can't see in my work is Jasper Johns and Picasso, because with them I am more interested in compositions.

With conceptual art, have a look at Dinos and Jake Chapman. You don't have to be an abstract painter to be a conceptual artist, these days skill helps communicate your message.

I love art history and study different 'isms', it is fun to try it with your own work. Even if you goal is to be an illustrator, it is good to know your history. I find it good to listen to/watch art documentaries on youtube work I work.

Lately I have returned to Giger's work for inspiration.
